EDIT #2: Issues are resolved, users should be able to notice significant speed improvements on the front page and the artists lists. (the only thing not cached on the front page is the fresh column, everything else is cached hourly)

As the comments are getting more usage it became evident that it was a bit disjointed, what we mean is that if someone left a comment on something you've uploaded you had to check manually and would receive no notification.

In order to remedy that we've made a small adjustment to comments. When a comment is posted on an object that you've uploaded to tehorng you will receive a notification via email and an inbox message you can conveniently reply to.

There were also some fixes:

Regarding avatars …

The avatar works off a service called http://gravatar.com (Global avatars).

The service ties an image to an email address. Tehorng tries getting the image associated with the email you've registered with. So in order for your avatar to appear on tehorng you must use the same email you've registered on tehorng with. ( You can change your email from your profile page. )

The service is free and changes appear within 5-10 minutes. The service is accepted in many places not just tehorng, so it can be beneficial all around the web.

The Look

The layout has definitely changed, the truth is the old layout was never tested too much and wasn't meant to be permanent. We believe this will better help facilitate the needs of tehorng as we continue to grow. However, because the layout is fluid things will be fairly compact on lower resolutions. If you experience any problems with the layout, please let us know.
