Isn’t this stealing from the artists?
You are stealing from artists if you don’t support them. Think of orng as a way to test drive fresh new music. When you find fresh music you like, support the artist. Organizations like the RIAA want to scare you into thinking that you need to buy CDs, but there is much more history behind this, and we hope you’ll take the time to understand it.
But I am SURE this is stealing!
Honestly, if you have moral reservations, no problem. We remove the links for any artist who asks; just like we did for David Crowder. This a totally opt out service, but we have more artists thanking us, than those that are asking for their music to be removed.
Could I get in trouble for downloading?
The RIAA isn’t interested in going after people who download music, only those who upload it. They are using scare tactics to intimidate people online. Programs like Limewire and BitTorrent are less safe because they upload your music, which can get you into trouble. However downloads from tehorng are only downloads and never upload automatically.
Do you keep track of downloads?
We do keep track of outgoing links from the website, that doesn’t necessarily mean a download, we do it strictly for statistics.
Why do I keep seeing ads and pop ups?
Some download sites have advertising that we have no control over. We don’t have any ads ourselves. To help block unwanted advertising we recommend installing Firefox and the Adblock Plus plug-in, both of which are free.
Do I have to register?
We do not require you to register to use tehorng. You can download, search, and browse while anonymous, but, we do require users who want to add links, add albums, add artists, edit information, etc. to register. If you are registered you will also gain some additional features such as commenting rights, reporting rights, and more. If you do like this site, we do encourage you to register though, and support the community!
